Every company has its founding story. Ours shapes us to this day. It all started in a small village smithy in Tieringen on the Swabian Jura. The Link family had been blacksmiths here since 1731, producing agricultural implements and shoeing cows and horses. However, in the late 1950s, there was hardly anything left for a village blacksmith to do with industrial change. At the same time, the textile industry was reviving in the area and the manufacture of bases for sewing machines saved the blacksmiths. But what the seamstresses lacked were chairs that could relieve them in their daily work. Werner Link recognized this and in 1962 developed the Bi-Regulette, the first chair that can be adjusted in two directions. Soon more and more people in Tieringen and the surrounding area helped to build chairs and the village smithy became too small.
